• “In the end we didn’t manage to get the ball over the line. We had a lot of clear chances to score, the opposing goalkeeper also had a very good day today and played an outstanding game. There was also a bit of a lack of consistency in the finish today.

  The victory was more than possible today, but we are still positive. We have to take this point home now. Who knows how important it will be in the end.”

• “We knew it could be a close game today. Mainz has a good team. And it’s not always that easy right after an international break. But we had a lot of opportunities to take the lead. That would have been the can opener and would have been good for us. You also have to say that the Mainz goalkeeper made a lot of good saves today.

  We should have simply forced the goal, we were on the trigger almost the whole time. But we didn’t score the goal. That’s why we didn’t win the game. The positive thing is that we kept a clean sheet. We continue on our path.”
