The Anděl awards, which have been awarded since 1991 by an academy made up of musicians, producers and journalists, were presented this Saturday evening in Prague’s O2 universum hall. The recording can be viewed retrospectively on the Czech Television website. The audience was welcomed by the band Jelen, which performed the joint song Miluju tě with guests Jiří Pavlica and Hradišťan. It tells about the departure of a close person.

The gala evening was moderated by Ivana Kulhánková and Honza Dědek. “Because it is the 33rd year of the Anděl awards, we timed it for Easter. And this despite the fact that the group JAR claims in the title of their record that Jezus Kristus Neexistus. We hereby apologize to all believers in the hall, i.e. Ewa Farná and the others at TV screens,” Dědek welcomed the audience.

Later, for example, they introduced the mother of the rapper Yzomandias to the audience, who could not participate because he is on tour. They also joked about how special requests some bands have. “For example, I heard about one who wanted to have contact lenses sorted by color in the dressing room before the concert,” mentioned the presenter of the American Blink-182, who performed in Prague last year. “I heard that Mariah Carey always requires to have twenty white kittens in her dressing room,” answered Dědek. “Every band wants kittens in the dressing room,” concluded Kulhánková.
