The Gogun Agricultural and Industrial Complex in Jindo-gun is changing. Jindo-gun announced on the 1st that it was selected for the agricultural and industrial complex environmental improvement project package contest hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation.
This project promotes the integration of welfare, culture, and convenience facilities through an integrated public offering in the form of a package to strengthen the competitiveness of agricultural and industrial complexes and create a space where young people can find and pursue their dreams.
The county will invest a total of 8.6 billion won, including 6 billion won in national funds, to build a youth culture center to expand settlement and welfare facilities in the Gogun Agricultural and Industrial Complex by 2027.
Through this, complex and cultural facilities will be integrated to strengthen the competitiveness of the agricultural and industrial complex and create a space where young people can realize their dreams.
The county plans to expand the existing Gogun Agricultural and Industrial Complex management office with cultural and convenience facilities and build a new youth culture center to serve as a platform for corporate growth within the agricultural and industrial complex.
The Youth Culture Center will be operated as a dormitory, fitness center, coin laundry, multi-purpose room, and employment and business incubation center.
An official from the Jindo-gun Population Policy Office’s investment attraction team said, “We plan to secure the culture, welfare, and convenience facilities that are lacking in the Gogun Agricultural-Industrial Complex, support the improvement of the working environment for small and medium-sized businesses, attract new young workers, and strengthen the competitiveness of the Agricultural-Industrial Complex.”
In particular, we will create a beautiful street that improves the road and pedestrian environment where residents and workers can communicate together, and transform the Gogun Agricultural and Industrial Complex into an industrial and cultural space.
In addition, to revitalize the agricultural and industrial complex, programs in which workers and nearby residents can participate are also operated.
Jindo County Mayor Kim Hee-soo said, “By selecting this contest, we hope to improve the aging agricultural-industrial complex infrastructure, strengthen the competitiveness of tenant companies, and improve residential conditions to become a high-gun agricultural and industrial complex attracting young people and workers.” He added, “We hope to strengthen corporate competitiveness and improve residential conditions. “We will strive to improve the working environment in industrial complexes to revitalize local industries,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s National, General, Agricultural and Industrial Complex Environmental Improvement Project conducted a contest targeting old industrial complexes across the country that have passed 20 years since construction began.
