jpnn.comJAKARTA – The University of Indonesia (UI) is collaborating with the international technology company Yandex to hold a comprehensive seminar on artificial intelligence (AI).
The UI and Yandex collaboration aims to guide AI in innovative discourse, as well as achieving an ethical balance in its use.
VP Strategy Yandex Search, Alexander Popovskiy said it was a great honor to be able to attend the University of Indonesia and take part in a seminar that raised fundamental questions about the future of AI.
“This event marks an important step towards a future where AI not only functions as a tool for the benefit of society, but also complies with safety and ethical standards,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Dean of FMIPA UI, Prof. Alhadi Bustamam noted that there are several problems that may occur in the future, including the dependence of data science on data availability, concerns around privacy and security, and the potential for misuse of AI.
“We explore how mathematics, data science and AI can help solve real-world challenges by improving decision-making processes, mitigating risk, detecting fraud and analyzing trends for continuous improvement,” he said.
Yandex AI Development Director, Alexander Krainov, said that the use of modern AI is closely related to the experimentation process in its history.
According to him, the evolution of AI up to the introduction of AlexNet in 2012, demonstrated the ability of neural networks to carry out image recognition tasks, and was the first model that could produce images, music and text.
