/ Republican Representative in the US Congress, Tim Wahlberg, proposed dropping a nuclear bomb on the Gaza Strip, and expressed opposition to delivering humanitarian aid to the residents of the Strip, according to a circulating video.
CNN said that US Representative from Michigan Tim Walberg made the statements commenting on US plans to build a floating dock off the coast of Gaza to help deliver humanitarian aid to the war-torn region.
“It should be like Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Get it over with quickly,” the lawmaker said, as he was heard speaking out against humanitarian aid to the Strip.
For its part, the American newspaper “Detroit News” quoted a spokesman for Walberg as saying that his answer was a metaphor for “supporting Israel’s rapid elimination of Hamas.”
The spokesman stated that the representative strongly opposes exposing American forces to danger, and “sympathizes” with the innocent people in Gaza, calling on Hamas to “surrender” and release the hostages.
US President Joe Biden recently revealed plans to build a floating port with the aim of delivering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, which is facing the specter of famine, according to international organisations, as a result of the ongoing war since the seventh of last October.
