The southern district police are investigating a suspected kidnapping and sexual offenses against a 15-year-old minor. The minor escaped from an institution in the north of the country and stayed with her friend. The girl’s friend contacted the police last weekend and reported her missing. The referral led to the opening of an investigation. The police were organized and began an extensive search, which resulted in finding the minor alone on the side of the road in a confused state.

Two Bedouin residents of Lakiya who were caught while in a vehicle near Naot Hovav, allegedly kidnapped the 15-year-old girl and committed prohibited sexual offenses against her. In addition, the suspicion is that the attackers recorded the acts, their detention has already been extended until next Thursday.

The suspicions against the two are for offenses with a prohibited pretext of consent and kidnapping and will probably be based, among other things, on a medical examination of the girl, which strengthened the suspicions that she was sexually assaulted. The police are awaiting the results of further tests, in order to file an indictment against the two Bedouin suspects.

Attorney Ali Abu Laban, who represents one of the suspects in the kidnapping and rape attempt on behalf of the public defender, responded: “The respondent gave a detailed version, the same version that you can simply check. We hope that the police will carry out the necessary actions, after which the respondent will be released, while it is clear that he is not related to the published matter.”

MK Almog Cohen Otzma Yehudit: “Following the horrifying rape of the 15-year-old girl who is staying in the Khusim institution, I demand that the prosecutor transfer the investigation to the Shin Bet and investigate the suspects of nationalist offenses and as terrorists for all intents and purposes.”
