When we think about the main Cuban stars in the Major Leagues, immediately the names of Yordan Álvarez, Aroldis Chapman, Jose Dariel Abru or Randy Arozarena jump out among the twenty players born on the island who play in the best baseball on the planet. The Japanese is followed by three veteran pitchers of the stature of Max Scherzer, Justin Verlander and Jacob deGrom, all currently injured, but each one will still pocket more than 40 million.
According to the information from the aforementioned source, Moncada will be the only Cuban to surpass the 20 million barrier in 2024, although José Abreu, his former teammate in the White Sox, will remain very close to that amount (19 million 500 thousand) and occupies the second place in the ranking.
The following six players on the list complete the group of those who will earn eight figures this year, or what is the same: 10 or more million in US currency. However, it is striking that stars of the caliber of Arozarena himself or José Adolis remain below that amount. Likewise, the last four in the Antillean ranking appear as the only ones that will earn less than a million.
