Azerbaijani national team wrestler Elnura Mamedova (53 kg) told İdman.biz.
She spoke about her goal for the Olympic qualifying tournament, which starts on April 5 in Baku. The 22-year-old wrestler expressed confidence that she will receive a license:
“Our team prepared together with Russia, Romania and Turkmenistan for 2 weeks. The atmosphere in the team is very good. The fact that the competition will be held in our own walls will give us additional strength and motivation. I think my teammates will perform confidently. “I will do everything possible to win the license for Paris 2024.”
Mamedova commented on the difficulty of fighting in the new weight and revealed the name of her main rival:
“Before this, I fought in the weight of 50 kg and 55 kg, I got results in both cases. It will not be difficult for me to compete in the weight of 53 kg. I have the physical training and experience for this weight. My main opponent at the tournament will be Andre Ana from Romania “We have already met her 3 times. I lost to her 2 times and won 1 time. If you train with faith, discipline and desire, you can defeat all opponents.”
