Eight vehicles collided on the M7 highway in the Balatonboglár area late Monday afternoon, and the section of the highway leading to Budapest was closed, the Somogy County Disaster Management Directorate announced on its website. They wrote: the accident happened at kilometer 141 of the highway.
Timót Óvári, the deputy spokesperson of the directorate, reported to MTI that the technical rescue is being carried out with the involvement of the professional firefighters from Siófok and the municipal firefighters from Balatonboglár. According to the directorate, the disaster prevention operations service and rescue helicopters are on their way to the scene.
Útinform wrote on its website: at the Lengyeltóti/Balatonboglár junction with the number 143, the police are diverting traffic towards Budapest.
