Klopp’s resignation has “shocked” the cabin

“It was a big surprise for all of us,” said the 25-year-old on Sky Sports. “That shook the cabin for a few hours. But he told us we were professionals and not to take it too much to heart.”
The announced departure of the long-time successful coach gave the team additional motivation. “I think we can use it to our advantage,” said Alexander-Arnold. “We want to help him go away with a big parade, we want a big send-off for him.”

With the 2-1 win against Brighton and the zero number between rivals Manchester City and Arsenal FC, Liverpool FC took the lead in the Premier League on Sunday and therefore has the best chance of winning the second championship title in the Klopp era after 2020.

The 56-year-old justified his retirement after almost nine years on the Reds’ sidelines with dwindling energy and announced that he wanted to take a general break from the summer.
“You just expect the good times to continue,” said Alexander-Arnold, referring to Klopp’s reasoning. “When he told us the news and explained his decision, we obviously had to respect that. But it was something that no player wanted to hear.”
