jpnn.comJAKARTA – Political Communication Analyst at Padjadjaran University, Kunto Adi Wibowo, said that political dynamics after the election could affect society at the bottom.

Therefore, he warned that political chaos among elites would not lead to horizontal conflict.

“As long as the conflict is still elite or from the bottom to the elite, that’s not a problem in my opinion. “However, if there is a horizontal conflict, it will be difficult to reduce or cool the political tension,” said Kunto.

According to Kunto, the dynamics of the political elite are still safe as long as they are within the corridors of democracy, do not use violence, do not incite, do not encourage violence.

In the Ramadan atmosphere, it is important for everyone to be able to control themselves, including self-control in political matters.

“I think up to now, there has been no conflict that has escalated to violence. I hope the atmosphere remains conducive. “Even though there are frictions and dynamics within the elite where tensions are high,” he said.

Kunto said the public must be able to differentiate between narratives for elite political interests and those that are actually intended to maintain democracy and the interests of voters or the wider public. However, he admitted, it was quite difficult to differentiate.

“You have to be able to distinguish between rhetoric that is for the interests of elites, and rhetoric that aims to maintain democracy. Well, this is the difficult one. Because rhetorically it will be the same. “We need sharpness and depth of thinking to respond to elite issues,” said Kunto. (flo/jpnn)
