A trial run will be conducted from Surat to Bilimora in Gujarat in 2026.

Officials of National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), the company running the bullet train, said that they have received more than 400 applications. A large number of women have also applied among them. Now work is being done to shortlist them. It is expected that they will be sent to Japan for training by May-June. In the first batch, only 20 LPs will be sent to Japan.

In Japan, these Indian loco pilots will undergo training on Japan’s bullet train Shinkansen only. The duration of the entire training will be about one and a half years. Before giving training, all of them will also be taught Japanese language so that there is no problem regarding language in taking training. Before this, 13 people from India have been sent to Japan for training. These are all people related to Operations and Maintenance (O&M).

The project of the country’s first bullet train is being prepared for a distance of 508 kilometers between Mumbai and Sabarmati in Gujarat. In which a total of 12 stations are being built.
