The ARENA party will have to look for new candidates for mayor for the municipalities of Mejicanos and Soyapango, which during this administration presented deficiencies in garbage collection and problems with unions.
This was reported by the tricolor party when announcing the purge of aspiring deputies who will move on to the next phase of the internal selection process.
Juana de Pacas and Jaime Lindo are part of the 10 councilors who will not seek re-election for the 2015 elections. Neither will Carlos Figueroa from Quezaltepeque, Lorenzo Rivas from Chinameca or José Florentino Rivas from Carolina because they aspire to a candidacy for deputies.
ARENA governs in 116 mayoralties and with the exception of the ten councilors, the rest will seek re-election. In the municipalities where ARENA does not govern, the leadership will seek consensus to select the candidates.
Regarding the pre-candidates for deputies, some who will go to the internal election on August 24 are: Ernesto Muyshondt, Juan Orlando Zepeda, Óscar Santamaría, René Portillo Cuadra and Rodrigo Ávila.
