Association for Decent Housing demands clarification of the Fernández Cortina case

The Association for a Digan Housing demanded that the authorities clarify the case of the former director of the Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers (INFONAVIT), Sebastian Fernandez Cortinawho obtained a loan of 5 million pesos, taking advantage of his position in the institution, the organization accused.

Through a statement, the association once again expressed the indignation of the workers, who strongly criticize the former official of Felipe Calderón’s government, as they alleged that the loan was made with a lack of ethics and zero transparency, in addition to violating regulatory standards in equitable access to mortgage loans.

Likewise, the union supported the anti-corruption plan presented by the candidate for the presidency of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, which emphasizes the commitment to eradicate any type of irregular behavior that affects the integrity and transparency of the institutions.

“The fact that this alleged loan came to light has already generated deep discomfort among workers, who point out that while they are fighting to obtain fair mortgage loans, Fernández Cortina would have acquired a home with a value equivalent to more than ten houses,” the organization said.

Meanwhile, the group demanded that Fernández Cortina assume his responsibility and proceed to immediately pay the million-dollar loan, which was supposedly granted illegally.
