President Biden stressed that “the United States does not seek a new Cold War, that its goal is not to change the Chinese regime, that its alliances do not target China, that the United States does not support what is called “Taiwan independence,” and that the United States does not seek a conflict with China.” .

He added: “The United States is committed to the one-China policy, and it is in the world’s interest for China to succeed. The United States does not want to limit China’s development, and does not seek to “disengage” from China.”

He said: “The United States will send Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to visit China soon to enhance dialogue and communication, avoid miscalculations, and enhance cooperation, in order to advance relations on a stable path and jointly respond to global challenges.”

The US President also informed his Chinese counterpart that the United States wants to change the ownership of the TikTok platform.

It is noteworthy that this conversation is the first since their direct meeting in California last November.
