Sometimes it can be helpful to anonymize your own phone number. We’ll show you how to suppress your number on your iPhone.
Whether you want to avoid callbacks from companies you have been in contact with or don’t want to give out your phone number in private. Even in times of digital communication, not all data has to be disclosed all the time. If you want to suppress your own number on your iPhone when making outgoing calls, follow these instructions.
How to hide your number on iPhone permanently
- Navigate to “Settings”app and open it.
- Scroll down the menu and tap “Telephone”.
- Then tap on the point “Send my caller ID”.
- Click here Slider so that it is no longer green, but grau is shown.
- Your phone number will now be permanently suppressed and no longer transmitted to any called contact.
iPhone: Only suppress phone numbers for certain contacts
If you don’t want to hide your phone number permanently, but only want to suppress it from certain recipients, your iPhone also provides this function via GSM code. However, these contacts must be in your address book.
- Open the Phone App by clicking on the green receiver.
- Navigate to “Contact” and select the person you do not want to show your phone number to.
- Tap on “Edit”to edit the data for the respective contact.
- Place the cursor in the field with the contact’s phone number in front of the number. You can do this by tapping on the field and hold. A small magnifying glass should now pop up with which you can drag the cursor specifically in front of the number.
- Now enter the GSM code before the phone number #31# a.
- Save Make the change by clicking on “Complete” ab.
- The phone number transmission is now for this contact disabled.
Alternatively, it is also possible to suppress your phone number for individual calls. So if you enter a number via the Number pad on the iPhone, first enter the GSM code #31# and then the phone number. This will be your caller ID for this individual conversation hidden.
