Given the concern generated among the victims by the admission of Salvatore Mancuso in the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP), the Attorney General’s Office has asked the judiciary to clarify and add the order issued on March 19, 2024.
The request of the Attorney General’s Office lies in the inclusion of a third sentence from the Justice and Peace Knowledge Chamber of the Barranquilla Courtin which financial reparations were provided to 137 victims who, according to the Attorney General’s Office, were not taken into account in the aforementioned order.
For the Attorney General’s Office, this omission constitutes a substantial aspect that must be corrected.since they consider that said sentence is an integral part of the transitional judicialization of the appearing party.

The deputy attorney general, Jairo Ignacio Acosta Aristizábal, stressed the importance of recognizing all the victimseven those who, despite intervening in the special transitional process, were unable to obtain an enforceable court order that ordered a compensatory reparation action in their favor.
In addition, Acosta Aristizábal pointed out the need to clarify the mentions about the duty of economic reparation of Mancuso Gómezconsidering their particular situation, and guarantee that this duty extends not only to people with enforceable Justice and Peace sentences, but to all victims recognized in the process.
This request for clarification by the Attorney General’s Office seeks to guarantee comprehensiveness and equity in the transitional justice process, as well as ensure that all victims receive the reparation and recognition they deserve within the framework of the armed conflict in Colombia.
