On April 4 /Thursday/ Ruse will become part of a national blood donation campaign, which will be held in the Department of Transfusion Hematology at the Kanev UMBAL.
Those wishing to donate blood will be able to do so on site from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The initiative is organized by the Bulgarian National Television with the help of the National Center for Transfusion Hematology and the Ministry of Health. It is supported by the Ruse organization of the BCHK and the Municipality of Ruse, and the mayor Pencho Milkov and administration officials will join it.
The campaign aims to increase the awareness of citizens about blood donation, promote free blood donation and give wider publicity to the process and the issues related to it. The National Television calls for participation and explains the public significance of the noble act by broadcasting reports and promo clips with the participation of citizens and popular personalities.
Today, volunteers of the Roussen organization of the BCHK and BMCHK have set up information points in key places in the city, where they explain more about the blood donation process and the campaign. The Bulgarian Red Cross has also provided additional incentives for blood donors, which will complement the vouchers provided by the medical facility.
The BNT initiative started on March 7 in Varna, and 7 cities will be covered, in which blood donation drives are held every Thursday. The final is on April 19 in Sofia at a mobile point in the doctor’s office in the BNT building at 29 “San Stefano” St.
