They seized the bodies of the dead youths and sent them to Chrompet Government Hospital for post-mortem. Later, when the incident was investigated, it was revealed that the people who came in the electric train last night were killed when they tried to cross the track carelessly when the train hit them.
Police investigation revealed that one of the deceased was Sathish from Chitlapakkam, who was working in a bank in Nungambakkam, and the other was Pranav, a resident of Krombettai area, who was working in a private company. Both had inadvertently tried to cross Thandavalam while going after their work last night. Then, suddenly, an express train which was going from Tinsukia in Assam to Tambaram hit both of them one after the other. They died on the spot.
Radha Nagar on the eastern side of Crompettai is for those who want to go through Chitlapakkam. They are dangerously crossing the tracks.. Similarly, people on the east side of Krombettai are dangerously crossing and boarding the train. People who walk like that are at risk of getting killed in an accident. At present, a tunnel is being constructed there. That line should be designed so that the train passengers can also get down and cross.. that will be the only solution there.
