The Committee on Labour, Social and Demographic Policy in the Parliament is considering two bills which propose the granting of Easter supplements for pensioners.
Deputies from the GERB-SDS and DPS parliamentary groups are sponsors of one of the bills. It envisages the provision of BGN 40 million for a one-time payment of an additional amount of BGN 75 to pensioners whose pension or the sum of pensions, together with supplements and compensations for April, is up to BGN 526 inclusive. The funds will be at the expense of the state social security budget for 2024 and for the Easter holidays, around 534 thousand pensioners will be able to be supported, it is written in the reasons for the bill.
The parliamentary group of “Vazrazhdane” has another bill, with which it offers an Easter supplement in the amount of BGN 100 for all pensioners, writes BTA. The formation offers BGN 100 for all pensioners and for Christmas.
Earlier, the deputy Georgi Georgiev told journalists that the funds will be at the expense of the additional mandatory pension insurance for the period from April to the end of the year. The proposal is to transfer the money to the State Social Security account.
