The graduate of the “Major Atanas Uzunov” Sports School, Valentin Mutafov, who is also a competitor of the Ruse volleyball club “Dunav”, received the “Sportsman of the Month” award from the mayor, Pencho Milkov.
“You are an example for young Russians of how hard work, perseverance and dedication can achieve such impressive results. The distinction is also for your coaches, who believed in you and build your individuality day after day, so that you remain purposeful and continue to conquer new heights”, the mayor congratulated him and wished him many more successes.
The twelfth grader is part of the team that won the Bulgarian Premier League Cup in January, and triumphed in the National Volleyball Premier League at the end of March.
Valentin is from Popovo and has been practicing volleyball since the second grade. His desire is to be part of the selection of the team that will represent the city in the upcoming matches in the Super League.
The award ceremony was also attended by the deputy mayor for sports and youth activities Borislav Rachev, the director of OP “Sports properties” Lachezar Ivanov and the director of the sports school “Major Atanas Uzunov” Evgeni Nedev.
