The Bologna Beauty Expo is one of the world’s three largest beauty fairs, along with Hong Kong and Las Vegas Cosmoprof, and is considered the original. This historic expo, which celebrated its 55th anniversary this year, was attended by 3,012 companies from 69 countries and 248,500 visitors from 150 countries.
Gangnam-gu ranks second in terms of cosmetics exports among local governments1), and supports participation in world-class beauty professional exhibitions to promote the development and export of cosmetics companies in the district. At this expo, we supported some of the costs such as booth rental, device installation, transportation, and marketing.
In the Gangnam-gu joint hall, ▲Platinum Bridge Co., Ltd. (Equalive) ▲Haim International Co., Ltd. (Eloquence) ▲Cheongdam CDC&P Co., Ltd. (Dancing Whale) ▲The Skin Company Co., Ltd. (Dr. DYK) ▲Cubist Co., Ltd. (Face Factory) ▲Co., Ltd. Eight companies participated, including Sosan Pacific (Picasso), Lala Clara Co., Ltd. (Lala Clara), and ▲Biderskin Co., Ltd. (Biderskin). Over two days, 233 consultations were conducted, with consultation performance amounting to $7.84 million. Of these, the contract amount is $2.64 million, and export contract MOUs have been signed with two cosmetics companies in Norway and Serbia. The district plans to continue the achievements of Bologna and raise the status of Gangnam Beauty by supporting participation in this year’s Shanghai Beauty Expo and Las Vegas Cosmoprof.
Gangnam-gu Mayor Cho Seong-myeong said, “Cosmetics are the items that contribute the most to exports for small and medium-sized businesses,” and added, “We will continue to spare no effort in supporting excellent companies in Gangnam, the center of K-beauty, to advance into the global market and grow further.”
