Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov met on April 4 with President of the Congo Denis Sassou Nguesso, who is on an official visit to the country.
As Day.Az reported on Thursday in the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers, during the meeting it was noted that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to the development of relations with African states.
It was emphasized that Azerbaijan cooperates with Congo within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement and other international institutions.
It was also noted that during the period of its chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement, Azerbaijan has made efforts to timely and adequately respond to the challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, institutionalize the Non-Aligned Movement, as well as in many other areas.
At the meeting, opportunities for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Congo in the trade, economic, agricultural, educational, oil industry, environment and other areas were discussed.
Issues related to the implementation of bilateral documents signed during the visit were also discussed.
