The opening whistle for the big Tel Aviv derby between Hapoel and Maccabi at Bloomfield Stadium is getting closer, but until it is heard tomorrow (Saturday, 20:00) the tradition in team training continues, with hundreds of fans coming to the Reds to drive Kobi Refuah players crazy.
The 600 fans who came to support the players burst onto the lawn, lit candles and created a warm and electrifying atmosphere in the Wolfson complex, but once again the same ugly Holocaust songs were heard condemning the yellow rival across the road.
In addition, the fans present in the complex shouted at the players that they had not seen a victory in the derby for eight years, and also added curses to Shimon Mizrahi, ahead of the derby in the semifinals of the National Basketball Cup on Monday. Shouts such as “Break their legs,” “The derby is above all,” and “Hell’s reds” were also heard at the Wolfson compound.
