The National Election Commission announced that the cumulative voter turnout was 20.51% as of 11 a.m. on the 6th, the second day of advance voting for the 22nd National Assembly election.
In the early voting held from 6 a.m. on this day, 9,079,657,000 out of 44,280,011 voters completed voting.
This is 4.05 percentage points (p) higher than the voter turnout rate (16.46%) during the early voting period in the 21st general election, and is the highest at the same time based on general elections in which advance voting was applied. It is 2.85% points lower than the voter turnout rate in the 20th presidential election two years ago (23.36%).
The cumulative voter turnout by region was 20.74% (1,723,697 people) in Seoul, 19.27% (555,921 people) in Busan, 16.26% (333,546 people) in Daegu, and 19.36% (500,047 people) in Incheon. Gwangju is 25.53% (306,332 people), Daejeon 19.45% (240,619 people), Ulsan 19.40% (181,370 people), and Sejong 22.81% (68,730 people).
Gyeonggi 18.83% (2,183,346 people), Gangwon 22.67% (301,943 people), Chungbuk 20.66% (2835.99 million people), South Chungcheong 20.62% (376,339 people), Jeonbuk 27.23% (413,324 people) , Jeonnam was 29.91% (468,160 people), Gyeongbuk 21.18% (471,035 people), Gyeongnam 20.26% (563,181 people), and Jeju 19.14% (108,468 people).
Early voting takes place until 6 p.m. at 3,565 locations nationwide. When you go to vote, you must bring an identification card, such as your resident registration card, passport, or driver’s license, issued by a government office or public institution and accompanied by your date of birth and a photo to verify your identity.
