The month of April has started. The first quarter of the year has not been very good for Bollywood. Apart from ‘Shaitan’, there has been no other film which has earned huge money in theatres. In such a situation, now all the responsibility is on the month of April and especially on Eid. Due to Ramzan, a large section of the audience has been away from theaters for the last one month. This month, 9 Hindi films are being released in theaters one after the other. Thus, there is a budget of around Rs 600 crore at stake. In such a situation, the question arises whether Bollywood will get Eid in the month of April, that too when this time none of Salman Khan’s films are being released on the festival. This time Salman is not in the theaters on the happy occasion of Eid. But there is going to be a clash between Ajay Devgan and Akshay Kumar. Ajay Devgan’s sports drama film ‘Maidan’ is being released on April 10, which has a clash with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s action film ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’. If we combine the budget of both the films, it is around Rs 450 crore. That means, if all goes well, to get Edi, both the films will have to earn well and collect more than Rs 500 crore.

Record of highest earning on Eid

There is no doubt that Salman Khan is still the biggest Sultan of the box office on the occasion of Eid. The record of highest earning among the films released on Eid is in the name of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ released in 2015, which had a net collection of Rs 320 crore. Whereas at second place is ‘Sultan’, released in the next year 2016, which had earned Rs 300.45 crore.

How much power is there in ‘Maidan’ and ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’?

At present, the discussion in the market about ‘Maidan’ and ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’, looking at the condition of the films in theaters in the last three months, it is clear that none of these films alone will earn Rs. 300- I don’t seem to have the strength to reach the earning of Rs 400 crore alone. Yes, it is true that if both of them together earn more than Rs 500 crore, then it can be considered a good inflow for Bollywood in the fourth month.

There is no emphasis on the remaining 7 films either.

Apart from these two, the remaining 7 films in the month of April are also showing little strength. However, now the way the audience is liking films with content, if any of these seven films succeeds in wooing, then it can become the third superhit at the box office in 2024 after ‘Shaitan’ and ‘Article 370’.
