The Social Sports Project of the Guayaquil Charity Board (JBG), which currently benefits more than 8,000 boys, girls and adolescents from vulnerable sectors of the country, fulfills the dream of seven young people who will go to Europe.

The main objective of the trip is to enhance the football level of the students who have stood out the most within the Academy.

This Thursday, April 4, seven young people between 12 and 17 years old will travel to Spain, fully funded by the JBG to have an experience at the Club Atlético de Madrid Residence. There they will be able to experience what it is like to be a professional player for this elite soccer club in the world. The main objective of the trip is to enhance the football level of the students who have stood out the most within the Academy, as well as to increase their academic and cultural learning. Dylan Yagloa, Jeico García, Camilo Medina, Kevin Arce, Diddier Alaña, Klay Rodríguez and Nathaly Veliz, in the company of their coach Javier Rodríguez, will join the Residential Experience specialized training program for 15 days.

This program optimizes the sports performance of the players, focusing on individual technical-tactical concepts, physical preparation and their integration into the game; along with psychological and emotional intelligence. Before the trip, the young people will share a farewell with their parents and members of the JBG Board of Directors, thus marking the beginning of a memorable experience. Those selected are students who, thanks to the scholarships awarded by the JBG and the agreement with the Spanish club, signed in July 2023, have the opportunity to continue building a future for themselves and their families.

For Juan Xavier Cordovez, director of the JBG, this is just the beginning of an ambitious sports project, whose main objective is social aid. The JBG aims to serve 15 thousand children and adolescents by the end of 2024. Currently, in the two sports projects of the JBG (Socio Sports Schools in alliance with the Municipality of Guayaquil and the Atlético de Madrid Ecuador JBG Academy) minors, of both sexes, from 7 to 17 years old, train. “Every program has to go through stages to precisely measure progress: we currently have 8 thousand children: 3 thousand in the Carlos Pérez Perasso Sports City (which has 16 fields) and 5 thousand in different sectors of the city in agreement with the Municipality of Guayaquil (15 more fields. In total, 31 fields for this socio-sports project,” explains Cordovez.

The main objective of the trip is to enhance the football level of the students who have stood out the most within the Academy.

In mid-2023, the JBG launched the Socio-Sports Schools Project, which was later joined by Atlético de Madrid as a strategic ally for the implementation of its management and training methodology. And the JBG also received the support of the Municipality of Guayaquil. The JBG is convinced of the transformative power that sport has in society: quality training that motivates boys, girls and adolescents to train daily and, in addition, provides them with a series of benefits that contribute to their comprehensive development, such as health care. health, training courses and food supplements.
