Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Work with Diaspora Fuad Muradov, who is on a visit to Istanbul, met with Istanbul Governor Davut Gul.

As Day.Az reports, having welcomed the guest, the governor of Istanbul expressed satisfaction with the high level of Turkish-Azerbaijani relations and emphasized the role of Presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ilham Aliyev in ensuring that relations have reached the level of strategic alliance.

The chairman of the committee, expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, noted that the Turkish-Azerbaijani brotherhood serves as an example for all countries of the world. During the meeting, a number of issues were discussed regarding the implementation of the “Action Plan related to persons believed to be citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who emigrated to the Republic of Turkey (Istanbul) in the 1990s and are currently living there, including members of their families, born in Turkey.”

It was brought to your attention that to date, responses to requests from 7,093 people have been given. Of these, passports were issued for 3,623 people and other services were provided. The role of the Istanbul Governorate in this process was especially noted.
