The time residents have been waiting to receive reimbursement from the Caisse Nationale de Santé (CNS) is decreasing. The person who guarantees this is the Minister of Health, in response to a question from deputy Sven Clement, from the Pirata party.

According to Martine Deprez, reimbursement times for healthcare bills have been decreasing since 2020, going from 72 days to 50 days in 2023. This year, reimbursements have been processed in an average of 46 days.

According to Virgule, which provided the data cited by the minister, in total, the refund requests received by the CNS since March 2020 amount to
17.206.601.

Remember that it was recently announced that from May 2nd, service at all CNS branches will only be available by appointment.

The objective, explains the organization in a press release, is to avoid overcrowded waiting rooms and improve the accessibility and effectiveness of services, reducing waiting times and ensuring their operation without interruption until closing time.

To this end, the opening hours of branches in Luxembourg City, Differdange and Esch-sur-Alzette will also be extended. From May 2nd, the three branches will be open daily, by appointment, from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.
