Nippon Television’s “Friday Road Show” will be broadcasting Makoto Shinkai’s work “Suzume no Tojimari” for the first time on terrestrial television, uncut, starting tonight (April 5th) at 9 p.m. In the ending part, a special video will be shown for the first time using illustrations drawn by director Shinkai in the project proposal.

The main character, Suzume Iwato, is a 17-year-old high school girl living in a quiet town in Kyushu. One day, she meets Souta Munakata, a mysterious young man who calls himself a “closer,” and in order to close the “doors” that are the source of disaster, she travels through ruins all over Japan. Go out. What truth awaits her wherever she arrives?

We also received comments congratulating the first terrestrial broadcast from Nanoka Hara, who played the voice of Suzume, and Hokuto Matsumura, who played Sota.

Nanohana Hara comment

I think it’s a work that will give you the energy to live tomorrow, so I think it’s perfect for your new life as it will be aired in April, and I’m really happy that more people will watch it.

The main story is uncut, so I hope you can fully experience the charm of “The Sparrow’s Door Shut.”

No matter how many times you watch it, I think you’ll discover something new about it, so I hope that those who watched it in theaters will also be able to enjoy their favorite scenes on TV.

Hokuto Matsumura comment

There are many funny scenes in “The Sparrow’s Door Shut” and scenes that will move you to tears, but more importantly, what does it mean to “think about people” and how do you “value people”? I feel like there is an important hint hidden when I think about what I should do.

I’m really happy that the work will be able to be seen in an environment that is easy for many people to watch, such as terrestrial broadcasting, after it has been released as a movie.

I hope everyone will take the time to watch this episode, if possible, in its entirety.
