Died on April 5, 1994 Kurt Cobain. The Nirvana singer committed suicide at his home in Seattle. It is now the 30th anniversary of his death. He is much regretted.
The BBC will mark the 30th anniversary of Kurt Cobain’s death release new one-hour documentary. In addition to a Saturday evening show, there will be a documentary called “Moments That Shook Music: Kurt Cobain.” A press release states that the documentary will be “told exclusively using powerful and rare archival footage.” He provides a “close-up account of the days surrounding the tragic moment” when Cobain took his own life in 1994. The footage from Touchdown Films shows “police statements at the scene, the chaos, confusion and devastation captured on video by his fans.” The 60-minute film can be watched on BBC Two and iPlayer.

In 2023 the former Nirvana members, Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, also a deluxe edition of IN UTERO to mark the album’s 30th anniversary. The songs also include 53 previously unreleased pieces. In addition to the remastered versions of the original tracks and the B-sides, two complete concerts from the IN UTERO era are included, including the band’s last performance in Seattle in 1994. Six of the bonus live tracks were performed at concerts in Rome, Springfield and New York recorded.
The remastered songs come from Bob Weston, the only sound engineer besides Steve Albini, who assisted on the original sessions.

On March 1, 1994, Nirvana gave their last concert ever. It takes place in Terminal 1 in Munich. Cobain is tired of playing the same hits over and over again. For example, he leaves “Smells like Teen Spirit” off the set list.
