The former general secretary of the Association of Municipal Employees and Workers (Adeom), Valeria Ripoll, has been expelled from the union due to her recent integration into the National Party and her support for the pre-candidacy of Álvaro Delgado.

This decision, reported by Eduardo Preve and confirmed by Adeom sources to El Observador, arises amid questions about Ripoll’s management at the head of the National Federation of Municipalities, to which the union is affiliated and contributes financially.

Adem asks to know the whereabouts of $4 million

One of the aspects that generated controversy is the lack of clarity regarding the destination of four million pesos, funds that, according to the current union leadership, it has not been known how they were used.

In addition, it is noted that Ripoll would have withdrawn an Antel cell phone for Adeom without paying the corresponding fees between April and November 2023, which led the union to pay an accumulated sum with surcharges.

Ripoll’s expulsion from the union was not an isolated case, since it was also decided to expel the Secretary of Finance, Felipe Vilches.

This measure is in addition to the suspension of Ripoll’s rights as a member at the beginning of February, arguing that its new political position implied incompatibility with union benefits, in addition to pointing out unfavorable comments towards the union movement.

After expressing her support for Delgado’s candidacy, Ripoll has been requested to work in the Legislative Palace as a commissioner, thus marking a new chapter in her political and union career, and as a member of the aforementioned right-wing party.
