The Prefecture of Chimborazo reaffirms its commitment to the community by successfully completing the comprehensive road signage on the busy Inmaculada – Licto – Pungalá road.
On the Inmaculada-Licto – Pungalá road, comprehensive road signage was carried out last Tuesday, April 2, led by the Public Works Directorate and the road signage area. This project seeks to improve traffic conditions and promote the safety of drivers and pedestrians in a stretch of 18 km.
Roberto Paca, signage technician at the Provincial GAD, highlighted the inter-institutional cooperation that made these works possible for 3 weeks. This joint effort included the installation of horizontal and vertical signage, zebra crossings and reflective studs, in close collaboration with local parish governments and community presidents to clean ditches and sidewalks. “This inter-institutional cooperation has been fundamental to guarantee the success and sustainability of these improvements in road infrastructure,” said Paca.
The Inmaculada – Licto – Pungalá road is a vital artery for the connectivity and commercial development of the sector, which is why the Prefecture allocated resources and efforts for this comprehensive intervention that will benefit the entire community.
Carlos Guevara, president of the GADP of Licto, expressed “his satisfaction and gratitude towards the first provincial authority, inviting the community to collaborate with these tasks and highlighting the constant commitment of the Prefecture of Chimborazo to the rural sector.”
The improvements include demarcation of the road with highly durable reflective paint and the installation of vertical traffic signs at strategic points along the stretch, guaranteeing better visibility at night and in adverse weather conditions.
Deployed signage not only improves visibility and orientation for drivers, but also promotes a safer environment for all road users, reducing accident risks and facilitating more efficient traffic flow.
