K. Mackevičius actively participated in public activities. He was a long-time member of the Association of Lithuanian Scientific Libraries, the Board of the Northern Regions Association, the Society of Lithuanian Librarians, a long-time member of the Royal Union of Lithuanian Nobles, Honorary Noble, senator, commander of the Vilnius Region Nobles’ Union, St. Knight of the Order of Casimir. For social activities in 2015 he was awarded the title of Honorary Patron of the Third Century University of Medard Chobot.
