On the eve of the Baku COP29 summit, a floating solar power plant (photovoltaic system) with a capacity of 100 kW will be put into operation on Lake Boyuk Shor.

Day.Az reported this on Thursday with reference to information from the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan following a meeting with the delegation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

“As part of the ADB pilot project “Knowledge Sharing and Technical Support for the Development of a Floating Solar Panel System,” the importance of commissioning a photovoltaic system with a capacity of up to 100 kW on Lake Boyuk Shor was noted on the eve of the COP29 event,” the statement noted.

Let us remind you that this station is being built by the Spanish company “Gamma Solutions” (general contractor), which has extensive experience in creating photovoltaic and wind stations around the world.

The Boyuk Shor station will consist of three sections of photovoltaic panels that operate on the principle of a solar battery (when a photovoltaic DC generator uses the effect of converting solar energy into electrical energy).
