The Meteorological Office has predicted that there may be temporary gusty or windy rain or thunder with a speed of 60-80 km per hour over several areas of the country including the capital Dhaka.

This information has been reported in the weather forecast for the internal river ports of the country till one o’clock on Sunday (April 7).

According to the forecast, there may be temporary gusty or windy rain or thundershower over Khulna, Jessore, Kushtia, Satkhira, Madaripur, Faridpur and Dhaka regions from west or north-west at a speed of 60-80 km per hour. The river ports in these areas have been asked to display naval warning signal number 2.

Gusty winds with a speed of 45-60 km per hour may blow over Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Barisal, Mymensingh and Sylhet regions from west or north-west. The river ports in these areas have been asked to display naval warning signal number 1.

Another forecast says that there may be temporary gusts of wind or rain with thunder in a few places in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions till 6 pm on Sunday.

In addition, intense heat waves in Pabna and Chuadanga districts; Mild to moderate heatwave over Barisal, Patuakhali and Rangamati districts along with remnants of Rajshahi and Khulna divisions, Rangpur and Dhaka divisions may moderate at some places.

On Saturday, the highest temperature in the country was 40.2 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga. Besides, the maximum temperature in Pabna was 40 degrees Celsius. However, the weather department said that the temperature of the whole country may drop on Sunday due to the increase in storms and rains.
