The national deputy José Luis Espert was interviewed by José Del Rio in Business community by LN+ and referred to the economic policy that the national government has led since it came to power in December. The economist considered that despite the high accumulated inflation, in the coming months it will be in single digits and that by mid-year the recession will be out. However, he targeted businessmen and union members for the high product prices and joint ventures “uncontrolled” by speculation.
“In the second semester, economic activity will find its bottom and begin to recover; At that moment, when we are close to the end of the second semester, we can see if the rebound will be a literal ‘V’ or a smaller one, with some curve,” analyzed the legislator who rejoined the Government party, La Libertad Avanza (LLA). ).
“If the economic policy continues like this, and if businessmen and union members begin to see that it is not a swallow and that it is permanent and align prices and salaries with the new inflation, the recovery will be faster,” he speculated.
On the other hand, he criticized the price increases accumulated since December aligned with speculation of a much higher dollar than the one that exists today. “That things are expensive has nothing to do with inflation, that is, the speed at which prices move,” he considered, and continued: “Whether prices are high or low depends on competition in the market.”.
“If you want reasonable prices you have to have competition, without monopoly, without oligopoly and being open to the world, because the worst rotten fish they sold us is that market competition is bad. Competing in the market is what makes you a millionaire,” said the also president of the Budget Commission in Deputies.
This “rotten fish,” he assured, is due to the management of the Kirchnerist governments. “The business of Kirchnerism was to destroy Argentina and it achieved it: It left us like a slum.
