The repercussions continue for the case of the woman who threw a cap at Mathieu Van der Poel during Paris Roubaix. Shortly after the CPA announced that they would appeal to justice to find and prosecute her, reports arrived from Belgium stating that the culprit would surrender.
This was explained in Het Nieuwsblad, which interviewed the manager of a company that offered a VIP service on the side of the road to see the competition. The woman who “attacked” the Dutchman was there and, curiously, she would be a fan of the rider.
The company in question is called Eventor and they reported that the person responsible for the incident will be brought to justice. Likewise, they gave him the benefit of the doubt, citing his fanaticism for the cyclist, without fully understanding why he threw the cap.
