Israel is the cause of all the problems in the Middle East region, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said during a meeting with Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Hamas movement, in Tehran.
“The deceitful and criminal Zionist regime (referring to Israel – ed.) is the cause of all the problems in the region,” Raisi said in a statement published on the Iranian government’s website.
Raisi also noted that the issue of Palestine “has gone beyond the borders of the Islamic world and has become a problem for all humanity.”
The Iranian president also criticized some Muslim states for showing inaction towards Israel’s aggression in the Gaza Strip.
According to Ebrahim Raisi, the world has started to “feel disgust towards Israel and its main ally, the USA”.
“The events that took place in the Gaza Strip are the shame of the USA and some Western countries, thus their true nature was revealed,” said the Iranian president.
