Toms Skujiņš, who mostly lives in beautiful Andorra with his family, visits Latvia relatively rarely. However, his visits to his homeland are always accompanied by many good deeds. This year, Toms will come to Latvia after the last spring event, which was the best in his career so far for the Tsarnik.
On April 28, he, like several thousand other bike lovers, will go to the Latvian cycling classic: Cēsis – Valmiera. This will be the 1st stage of the most ambitious domestic bicycle series – LVM MTB and Gravel marathon.
Tom will initially support and give valuable advice to the smallest pedalers who will compete in the Maxima children’s races. The competition track will be located in the very center of Cēsis – Vienības Square.
Meanwhile, Skujiņš will welcome the participants of the “Toyota” Gravel, “Lielbāta” MTB and “Mammadaba” Health trip at the usual hill near the Church of St. Simon in Valmiera. At one time, he also had an adventurous finish there himself. The “Strade Bianche” runner-up will reward the fastest riders.
It should be noted that in the career growth of Skujiņas, just like the other leading Latvian riders, domestic MTB marathons played a significant role, where he learned both tactical and, even more so, technical skills, which also help in the highest level competitions.
