Suncheon Bay National Garden has been gaining popularity among visitors since its first week of opening. A large number of visitors flocked to Suncheon Bay National Garden, which opened on April 1, over the weekend.

According to Suncheon City, since the first week of opening, 210,000 people have visited Suncheon Bay National Garden, and the legend of the 2023 Garden Expo is being repeated. The number of visitors during the two days of opening on the 6th and 7th of the weekend was 120,000, and the number of visitors in the first week of opening exceeded 210,000.

This is in line with the strategy of the city, which is ambitiously pursuing a new leap forward from being a garden city to becoming a garden culture city, to capture visitors by adding AI and cultural content to the national garden.

The first thing that captivated visitors was the ‘Space Bridge’, which looked like a spaceship had just landed. Inside the 175m bridge, various places became photo spots with media production that stimulated the curiosity and imagination of visitors.

When you cross the Space Bridge, you will see ‘Space Hub’, a 5,000 pyeong flower space that will delight your eyes with its refreshing openness. On the day of the opening ceremony, the Avengers Parade was held with over 10,000 citizens participating, and even a dedicated observatory was installed, quickly emerging as a new main point of the national garden.

The ‘Night Garden Tour’, a premium night tour of national gardens currently in pilot operation, is gaining great popularity as it allows visitors to view the beautiful night scenery in depth with a professional interpreter.

In addition, ‘The Little Gardener’s Adventure’, a cute stamp tour that captivated children, ‘Yumi’s Cells the Movie’ where dancing cell characters seem to come to life, and Secret Adventure with a 4D stereoscopic theater, interactive exhibitions, and projection mapping attract visitors every day. It is emerging as a popular content.

Visitors are pouring out positive reviews, saying, “I am impressed by the beautiful garden both day and night,” “It has become more fun with various new contents,” and “I plan to visit again to take pictures of the colorful spring flowers.”

Suncheon Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu said, “We will create a more dynamic and beautiful national garden with the animation content we ambitiously introduced this time, as well as colorful flowers for all four seasons and cultural events.” He added, “Now is the time to come to Suncheon, feel the ‘Garden Culture City’, and heal and recharge. “I hope you have it,” he said.

Meanwhile, Suncheon Bay National Garden opens all year round starting on April 1st and is closed on the last Monday of every month. Additional details can be found on the Suncheon Bay National Garden website.
