Görlitz: The stop display on the Demi remains broken – at least with a new defect

According to Zvon, the fan and power supply have now been replaced after a two-month wait. And yet the screens still remain black.

Good things take time. The digital display board in the bus stop at Demianiplatz in Görlitz, on which the bus and train travel times are posted, should be working on both sides again since last Thursday. At least that’s what Christine Nützsche, press spokeswoman for the Upper Lusatia-Lower Silesia Transport Association (Zvon), told the editorial team. However, a look at the screens shows something different, namely still: nothing. The passengers continue to look at black monitors.

The defect was discovered around two months ago. According to Zvon, the fan and power supply were affected. It took some time for the ordered spare parts to be delivered. The employees had actually used the now defective parts. But “unfortunately there now seems to be a defect somewhere else,” says Nützsche. The spokeswoman didn’t specify what the problem was this time, but when asked on Monday she promised: “My colleagues will take a look at the matter this week.”

In the long term, the scoreboard will be replaced with a more modern model. According to the Zvon spokeswoman, such an exchange is not planned until 2026. The virtue of patience is therefore still in demand.
