In addition, those who spread false news on or off social media could face up to a year in prison and a fine of up to one lakh dirhams, according to the national news agency WAM. Those who issue fake Kovid verification certificates will also face severe punishment. In addition to imprisonment, a fine of up to Dh7 lakh can be imposed. Kovid inspection is mandatory for entry to any place in the UAE. Authorities came to the scene with a warning after noticing that many people were committing fraud.
