Srinagar : About 11 thousand crores of cash transactions are taking place in Jammu and Kashmir Bank on the occasion of Ramzan festival. Similarly, it is reported that the bank’s digital channels alone have set a record for transactions worth a thousand crores of rupees in a single day.
Bank employees have said that this unprecedented level of cash transactions is a reflection of the fact that customers have bought and accumulated their necessary items ahead of the festival of Ramzan. It is reported that transactions worth one thousand crores of rupees have been done in a single day through the bank’s digital transaction channel Mpay (mpay) alone.
Bank employees have informed that 4 lakh 93 thousand 598 transactions were carried out in the last four days including two days of public holidays and through that 3 thousand 230 crore 77 lakh rupees were transacted.
Jammu and Kashmir Bank said that during the Ramzan festival alone, cash transactions of approximately 11 thousand 82 crore rupees took place. Unlike previous years, especially during the festive season, the bank management said that the improvement of the digital platform helped the users to carry out digital transactions without any hassle.
