Pop folk singer Diona will face court 3 months after she was caught driving with drugs in her blood. The indictment against her has already been filed.

“Denislava Sashova is accused of driving a luxury car after using cocaine. There are no traces of marijuana in her blood, but there are traces of hemp in other biological samples”. This was stated by the spokesperson of the Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office, Nikolay Nikolaev, to Nova TV.

In his words, the composition of this crime “refers to an Ordinance”. “That is, the content and concentration of alcohol, respectively of narcotic substances – must be established according to the relevant order. And it is through a blood sample. We have not established the presence of hemp in Diona’s case in her blood. There are traces in other biological material, which is a circumstance aggravating criminal responsibility,” Nikolaev explained.

And he added: “With the permission of the supervising prosecutor, I can say that in fact traces of antipyretic drugs are observed in Diona’s blood. There is some urban folklore that when you say that you used some such drugs, the prosecutor’s office will not hold you accountable. But the chemical analyzes are accurate.”

Nikolov also commented on the case of the pop folk singer Deborah, who was caught driving drunk with 2.9 percent alcohol in her blood. “The materials of this pre-trial proceeding were not reported to the SRP. So I can’t comment on anything until I see the evidence. What threatens the perpetrator in such cases is a punishment of between 1 and 3 years of imprisonment, a fine and confiscation of the vehicle,” emphasized the spokesperson of the SRP.
