(ANSA) – MANZANO, 10 APR – The Friulian writer and poet Caterina Percoto (1812-1887) was avant-garde with her works and her life. The literary prize named after her is therefore avant-garde. In which you can also participate with compositions developed with the help of artificial intelligence. The only, unavoidable prerequisite is that this is indicated to the jury.
The principle is very simple: AI has entered our lives and has also done so in the production of textual or graphic contents, therefore, “pretending that they do not exist and that they are not used is putting your head in the sand”, they argue the organizers. Who then launch this experiment which will be able to help “see more clearly what collaboration between artificial intelligence systems and human authors can produce”. But the promoters went even further by including Vincenzo Della Mea, professor of Computer Science at the University of Udine, on the jury.
Now in its tenth edition, the “Caterina Percoto” national literary prize is promoted by the Municipality of Manzano (Udine), a town in Friuli where the intellectual, translator, entrepreneur and pedagogist had roots; the call is open until June 30th. The Jury, chaired by the journalist and writer Elisabetta Pozzetto, has added to the “adults” and “children” categories another specific one, the “AI”, transgenerational and open to those who, in fact, openly use this tool to write a composition literary.
