In Armenia, as a result of an armed attack on a car, unknown persons stole about $5.7 million.
As Day.Az reports, this is stated in the message of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
The incident occurred on the road to the village of Parakar, located near Zvartnots airport.
According to the Investigative Committee, according to preliminary data, at least 4 masked people armed with pistols stopped a Hyundai Sonata car, which was driven by one of these three persons. forced the driver and two passengers out of the car, laid them on the ground and handcuffed them.
“Then, using tear gas, they put all three in the car, stole three gold bars weighing 36 kilograms worth 1.024 billion drams (about $2.7 million) from suitcases and bags placed in the trunk, as well as 293 million rubles, equivalent to 1.216 billion drams ($3.14 million) and disappeared,” the report says.
It is indicated that a criminal case has been opened under articles of “robbery” and “illegal trafficking in weapons.”
