Erika Ikuta will release her 1st EP “capriccioso” on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, and the music video for the song “Dare” has been released.
This EP is a piece of music that Ikuta wrote and composed himself, and uses singing and piano to create music that is close to the listener’s daily life.The title “capriccioso” means “carefree” or “on a whim.” Ikuta named it from the term. In addition, the included song “Darane” is a song provided by Ryota Yanagisawa (SUPER BEAVER), whose music Ikuta has been encouraged by and has been attending live shows for some time. Yanagisawa created the song after meeting with Ikuta to talk face-to-face about what he feels on a daily basis and how he approaches music.
The music video was directed by Takuro Okubo, who continued his work with “Laundry,” and Ikuta performed an a cappella of over a minute at Shimokitazawa CLUB 251, where SUPER BEAVER held their first one-man live during their indie days. The monochrome video shows Ikuta’s serious expression. The result is a work that shows her strong determination to make a solo debut as she sings each word with great care.
Furthermore, it has been decided that Erika Ikuta’s 1st EP “capriccioso” RELEASE SPECIAL YouTube LIVE will be held from 20:00 today. We are also planning a special collaboration that can only be seen on this day.
My thoughts and emotions wander every day, and sometimes they get tied up or I lose track of them, but when I received Yanagisawa-san’s song “Dara Ne”, I felt like I had found a place in my heart to which I could return. I want to continue singing this song with great care so that it becomes a song like that for everyone. The a cappella at the beginning of the music video was the very first take, so I was nervous, but in the tense atmosphere, each word resonated deeply in my heart. I hope that that live feeling will be transmitted beyond the screen. I was happy to be able to sing this song while feeling the atmosphere of the live house where SUPER BEAVER was standing in every cell of my body. Please listen.
