Chirainkeesh: The Sharkara Meena Bharani Mahotsavam concluded in an atmosphere full of devotion. Since yesterday morning, there was an endless stream of devotees to witness the Garuda weighing ceremony, which is the main function of the temple. The Garuda weighing started at 9 am after special pooja was performed in both bows under the chief karamika of K. Madhavan Poti at the Temple Melashanti Venjaramoodu Palur Math and continued till night. 201 people participated in the weighing of Garuda who had fasted hard at Bhajanapura in front of the temple. From the Bhagwati Kotaram near the temple, after being clothed and beaten, they turned into small groups and reached the temple accompanied by musical instruments, and then they were hanged. Under the leadership of the Sharkara advisory committee, the temple area where the hanging bow passed was sprinkled with water. Despite the intense heat, hundreds of people came to pull the bow. The two bows are circumambulated around the temple a hundred times through the Panchara Manal in the temple premises. Water and snacks were distributed in the temple premises under the leadership of various individuals and voluntary organizations. Then the Aarat procession left the temple at night and crossed the railway line via Valiyakada, Ottaplammuk, Patanilam and reached Altharamoot and returned to the temple via Pandakashala. Devotees welcomed the goddess by decorating the paths through which Aarat passed, lighting lamps and preparing lamps. Under the leadership of the temple advisory committee, various urul committees, New Rajasthan Marbles, taxi-auto drivers, institutions, voluntary organizations etc., electric Dipalankarsha was also arranged at various places as part of Meena Bharani. The medical camp under the leadership of Chirainkeesh Taluk Hospital and Health Department was also operational on Aswati and Bharani day. An elaborate police system was also prepared. And KSRTC also conducted more services.
