In the film (as well as in the trailer) there are many references to cinema by Dario Argento and Hitch (including Bates Motel by Psycho come location)
The film MaXXXinewhich will arrive in theaters starting from July 4, 2024, has been presented since the first tests last December as a tribute to the master of Italian thrills Dario Argento and to the thriller genre.
It is the third and final chapter of the trilogy that began with the film X and continued with Pearlthe latter presented at Venezia 79 in 2022.
Last Friday the film production company A24 on X (formerly Twitter) announced the release date of MaXXXine and anticipated the video that allows us to preview what we will see on the big joke next summer.

It is one of the most anticipated sequels of the year
In this third act of the trilogy, we find Mia Goth. This time he is looking for success in the Hollywood of 1985, as can be seen from the trailer published online in the last few hours.
According to the rumors, MaXXXine it will be full of “gore exaggerated” and will show some scenes shot in the famous Bates Motel, the location of one of the most famous thrilling films in the history of the seventh art: Psycho (in Italian Psyco, without the “h”) by the legendary Alfred Hitchcock. Also in the trailer you can see some of the scenes shot with Norman Bates’ Motel as the setting.
MaXXXinewhich wrapped production in May 2023, is one of the most anticipated sequels of the year.
The director, Ti West, had spoken of the need to make films like these “events”. Let’s say that he did it very well, also thanks to the help of an element that is certainly not secondary in what we could define as the “filmic recipe”: the casting.
West had decided to opt for an online casting, carried out before revealing some curiosities about the filming of his works and before announcing the presence of Lily Collins and Kevin Bacon in the cast.
